Best View Barn is a special events and wedding venue unlike any other. The barn sits on over 30 picturesque acres overlooking the hills and windmills of Madison County, right in the heart of Central New York. Originally built in the 1940s, the Kiehn family has transformed it into a spectacular event venue, restored to its former glory with all the contemporary amenities for every function. With breathtaking views, expansive grounds, soaring ceilings, and a 1,280-square foot deck, it’s the perfect location for any event.

I grew up in the house next door to the farm where the Barn stands, right on top of the hills overlooking the valley. I have so many wonderful memories of being at the farm as a child. When it went up for sale years ago, my family made the decision to purchase it!
Our Story

For a number of years, my father used it mainly for storage. The property was so beautiful; we couldn’t let it sit idle. We dug a pond that overlooks the valley. During the summer months, our family began hosting events outdoors – how could we keep such a great space to ourselves, when we could share it with friends and family?
About 10 years later, friends of ours began pushing us to renovate the barn for weddings. Once we started, we knew this was exactly what we needed to do! Shortly after, I threw a surprise 30th birthday party for my boyfriend at the barn. It turned out to be a bigger surprise for me – he popped the question, and that turned into our engagement party as well!
From that night on it was full speed ahead, renovating the barn to get it ready in time for its first wedding – my own, on May 21, 2016. We brainstormed for a month, deciding all the things we needed and wanted in our venue. We wanted to stand out, we wanted to be unique, and we wanted an elegant event for our guests and ourselves.
The Barn is truly the vision that I had for my own dream wedding, and I am delighted to share this with other couples looking to celebrate in a completely unique and unforgettable way. Additions and improvements are still happening at the Barn because we know there is so much more we can become, and my dream is to let future couples to enjoy the space as much as we do.

The massive barn with soaring ceilings and exposed rough-hewn wood offers an ideal spot for your indoor event. A built-in bar occupies one corner, while a 1,280-square-foot deck sits just outside the barn for cocktail hours, above a charming patio for you and your guests to relax and enjoy the view.
The expansive grounds on the premises offer many options for planning your ceremony and wedding reception in the open air. Choose a spot by the pond to exchange your vows, or plan your event on the rolling lawn and enjoy gorgeous scenery on our manicured property.
